DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this course is to improve your ability and confidence expressing terms used in business situations.

REQUIREMENTS:

To benefit the most from this class, please arrive on time and ready to talk.  Read the material to be covered before class, think of questions you want to ask and opinions you want to share, and become familiar with any vocabulary or grammar you might want to use.

Please be prepared, with your book, binder, and supplies every day.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE:

Monday: 2:30 - 3:20          

Tuesday: 9:30 – 10:20

Wednesday: 2:30 – 3:20

Thursday: 1:30 – 3:20

Friday: No Class

EVALUATION:

Class participation (prepared, active, using vocabulary and grammar, good listening & pronunciation):        60%

Exam:                       40%

Your participation grade includes keeping the conversation polite and respectful.  Students who never speak, or speak too much, will both lose points; so will students who go off-topic, speak inappropriately to other students, or do not respect or listen to other students’ ideas.  Students who try hard to help others in their group feel comfortable, and feel like their ideas are welcome to the conversation, will be rewarded in their participation grade.  Students who practice the phrases and strategies discussed in class will also be rewarded.
